How to Register an Accommodation in SES Hospedajes (2026 Guide)

If you manage tourist apartments, hotels or any short-stay accommodation in Spain, SES Hospedajes is already part of your daily routine. Since December 2, 2024, it has been mandatory to report your guests’ data through this platform run by the Ministry of Interior. This guide summarizes what it is, who is required to comply, and how to register without getting lost.

What is SES Hospedajes

SES Hospedajes is the system through which the Secretaría de Estado de Seguridad (State Secretariat for Security) receives traveller information from the hospitality and vehicle rental sectors. It replaces and expands the old traveller registration that used to be sent to the Guardia Civil or the Policía Nacional, and it stems from Royal Decree 933/2021, which regulates the documentary registration and reporting obligations of these sectors.

In practice, it’s a web platform (with an electronic headquarters) where you register as an obligated party, add your properties, and report the data for each stay.

Who is required to comply

The regulation covers virtually anyone who hosts travellers for payment:

• Hotels, hostels, guesthouses and rural houses.
• Tourist apartments and dwellings.
• Campsites and motorhome areas.
• Platforms and agencies that act as intermediaries in rentals.

If you regularly rent out through booking platforms or directly, you’re covered. It doesn’t matter if it’s a single apartment: the obligation applies per activity, not per size.

Registration, step by step

Registration is done only once and leaves your business operational on the platform:

1. Register as an obligated party. You’ll need to identify yourself with a digital certificate, DNIe or Cl@ve on the SES Hospedajes electronic headquarters. Here you declare the data of the individual or legal entity that owns the activity.
2. Add each property. Every accommodation you manage is registered with its address and details. Doing so gives you an establishment code, which identifies each registration.
3. Get your communication credentials. In addition to web access, you can request credentials for the web service, which is what allows registrations to be sent automatically from your management software.

What data must be reported and by when

RD 933/2021 expanded the information required compared to the classic traveller registration. In addition to the traveller’s identification data (name, ID document, date of birth, etc.), it now includes data about the business relationship: stay dates, number of travellers, and contract and payment method details.

The deadline is short: the data must be reported within a maximum of 24 hours from check-in. For stays booked in advance, much of the information can be prepared before the guest arrives.
